What is Trauma and how Does it Affect Your Life?

Stuck energy as the result of trauma residing in your unconscious brain and causing obstacles to you moving forward has been mentioned in previous postings. I thought it would be useful to actually discuss what is trauma and how it can be affecting your life, especially since so much of it is tucked deeply in your unconscious mind and healing it is not within most people’s access.

For my colleagues and myself, a traumatic event is one in which you’re not willing to allow yourself to experience it fully. This reluctance may be due to the emotional intensity of what is happening, the age of the person at the time of its occurrence, the life lessons that that person has signed for this lifetime, generational or past life residues, and any number of other considerations. The event may be so intense that the person leaves his body or disassociates. This coping mechanism is one that many of us learn as children to avoid being fully present in the middle of family battles. Another example would be a rape victim who talks about looking down on herself during the attack, and so does not feel the full brunt of what is happening to her. While leaving your body is an excellent survival technique, my take is that it’s not an optimal place from which to heal.

So what does stuck energy look like? For me, it can be as mild appearing as a mirage of water appearing on a hot road where there really isn’t any water. Light going through the different layers of heat rising from the road refracts the light, and causes it appear as if there’s something wet there when viewed from the correctt angle. Those kinds of stuck energy I usually see as the person is getting near completely transforming the wadded up energy and releasing it. At the other end of the spectrum, a huge amount of stuck energy may have a big huge wad with black, tarry curse energy on it (a subject for another blog.) Sometimes, instead of seeing the energy, I just feel the discordant vibrations coming off of it, as there are many ways to energetically “know” something.

Stuck energy can have a huge impact on you moving forward. Many times, it’s the obstacle stuck away inside of you that causes you to freeze in fear and not move forward. Other times, stuck energy may be deeply hidden in your unconscious, and while you say you want to do one thing, you find yourself self-sabotaging over and over due to the irrational fear of letting go of the reisitance. Removing that stuck energy may take some ferreting out by a skilled practitioner, but just knowing that it exists and how it’s stopping you from having the life of yuor dreams hopefully will start you on your own path to seek your own answers.

How have the past experiences that you know of shaped your life? For every one that you do know of, there are probably five others that you don’t, so how do you think that those hidden obstacles in your unconsious are affecting you?

About Nancy Smeltzer

I'm passionate about long distance spiritual and alternative healing, having had a successful practice now for over ten years. My clients work with me over the phone and on Skype from all over the USA and Canada, as well as Switzerland, Russia, and Australia. I specialize in helping people heal their negative repeating patterns of behavior and remove the stuck energy in their unconscious minds. By doing that, they can quit going round and round in circles,. repeating the same mistakes, and move forward to having the life of their dreams. Besides my holistic healing practice, I've also been professionally creating art quilts and other fiber arts for over 30 years. My specialty is contemporary beaded art quilts. On my web site, I bill myself as the "Self Proclaimed Button and Bead Queen of Maryland (USA)." My recent works have images that are based on what I see when I tap into a person's energy field and are called Meditation Gardens. These visionary art pieces are the perfect place for that person to play and meditate. In my spare time, I'm a rabid, avid "dirty nails" gardener, composing scenes with plants. Sometimes, I come inside so dirty that my clothes have to go straight into the washing machine; they're too dirty for the dirty clothes hamper! -The Official Google + site for Nancy Smeltzer
