So who’s doing the healing when you work on one of your issues or someone else works on it for you? In my experience, that’s an easy answer, YOU are. While you may need some help at first in developing your own style of healing, it’s always about opening up your heart and surrendering the illusion of control so that Divine energy can begin to move you into the optimal life that you were meant to live.
Realizing that you’re in control of resolving your own issues and being willing to surrender resistance to maintaining the status quo are, however, often two very different subjects that need to be addressed. For myself, I’ve resolved a wide range of problems that have beset me through my life, and after eight years of following this spiritual path, I am down to my core issues. These are the life lessons that I signed up for in this lifetime to learn of their existence and heal whatever the cause, hopefully for all of eternity. Then, I get to pick a different set of lessons in my next mortal existence. The big obstacle seems always to be around surrendering the resistance to maintaining things the way that they are that trips me up every time.
So where are these prime obstacles hidden and why do I say I want one thing and over and over do another. My take is that these layers of stuck energy are hidden in the unconscious or in our reptilian brains. In the study of triune brain theory, Dr. Paul MacLean postulated at N.I.H. in the United States, back in the 60s and later in the 90s, that the reptilian brain (which I call our “gut” or “body” brain) is responsible for our primitive impulses of survival and control of our environment. Unfortunately, this part of ourselves, or as Jung would call our “unconscious” selves. has the rational capability of a two year old. It wants what it wants when it wants it. It’s means of connecting with the world seems to be by associations, so if a trauma or stuck energy is associated with a given event, then it will often manifest itself through the language of body sensations. For myself, because of my stubborn refusal to “listen” to what my body was trying to tell me, I have been beset in the past by chronic pain and multiple surgeries. It’s only by listening to the more subtle signals of distress from my body consciousness that I have lessened the need to wait until the volume was turned up full blast in pain before I would listen to what my body was trying to tell me. By listening to these more subtle voices, I’m getting better at being whomped between the eyeballs with a “clue by four” so that I’ll pay attention.
I’ll write more soon about triune brain theory and the implications of how it can manifest itself in our own lives. The takeaway for today is that we are causing our own realities for ourselves regarding the chaos, both emotional and physical, that may be going on in our lives. The good news is that there are gentle, fast, and effective ways to deal with those issues and heal them. Stay tuned to the postings in this blog to learn some of those ways.
How have your own emotional thoughts out-pictured in your lives? Have you realized that there is a connection between what you believe and how your life manifests itself, or are you tossed about by the sea of emotions that you find yourself in?
