Making Energy Healing Easy on Yourself

Atlas carrying the weight of the worldNancy Smeltzer, MFA

Sometimes, when doing alternative or holistic healing, it can feel as hard as this statue of Atlas carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. The ability to heal one’s issues can feel insurmountable to solve, let alone to begin to know where to start. One realization that I and many of my colleagues have come to realize is that you are going to do the work needed to do your healing, so you might as well as accept that fact and quit fighting it, Oh, it may be the next five lifetimes that you spin in circles, repeating many of the same patterns over and over, usually not knowing that you’re doing so. There  may be a vague sense of dis-ease in this life, a belief that there’s got to be a better way, but my take is that one will keep spinning in circles until you’re committed to doing the work. Get used to it.

Another important consideration when working with one’s own deep, inner feelings is that there are no negotiations with the Divine. My experience has been that we don’t get to pick which of our actions that we need to change that are keeping us from true connections. All of them need to come under consideration. We can whine as much as we want, but if the way that you’re progressing isn’t serving you, then something has got to change. That change usually comes in the form of relinquishing old habits that no longer are serving us well. However, if the fear of letting go of those patterns are hidden in the unconscious or reptilian brain, then perhaps assistance by a trained expert is needed to uncover the real cause of the issue at hand.

Usually, I’ve found that what is needed for me to make profound changes is to truly surrender to the Divine, give up the illusion of control that I think that I have over my life, and quit trying to understand why what’s happening is happening . Just accepting that if you need to know is all that is needed, and healing goes much faster for me and my clients when that happens. Understanding is a mind centered activity, and totally appropriate for many of life’s activities. However, when it comes to having an open heart so that the energy healing can take place in the body, trying to understand “why” just slows down the process at best, and at worst, can prevent any forward movement.

On Deepak Chopra’s blog, where he talks about “Life is About Fulfillment”, someone left a comment that has a beautiful way of talking about the joy and bliss that comes from true surrender to the Divine….”If you are able to find your Soul* inside as your eternal companion you will be fulfilled. Life lived in spontaneous creativity that comes in a natural way is the ultimate goal. For that there is only one remedy: surrender to it and you will know inside that it is ALL you need.”

What have you done when you find that your life seems to be going in circles and you’re not making forward progress? Are you able to relinquish your need to understand and just allow healing Light and Energy to flow through you?

About Nancy Smeltzer

I'm passionate about long distance spiritual and alternative healing, having had a successful practice now for over ten years. My clients work with me over the phone and on Skype from all over the USA and Canada, as well as Switzerland, Russia, and Australia. I specialize in helping people heal their negative repeating patterns of behavior and remove the stuck energy in their unconscious minds. By doing that, they can quit going round and round in circles,. repeating the same mistakes, and move forward to having the life of their dreams. Besides my holistic healing practice, I've also been professionally creating art quilts and other fiber arts for over 30 years. My specialty is contemporary beaded art quilts. On my web site, I bill myself as the "Self Proclaimed Button and Bead Queen of Maryland (USA)." My recent works have images that are based on what I see when I tap into a person's energy field and are called Meditation Gardens. These visionary art pieces are the perfect place for that person to play and meditate. In my spare time, I'm a rabid, avid "dirty nails" gardener, composing scenes with plants. Sometimes, I come inside so dirty that my clothes have to go straight into the washing machine; they're too dirty for the dirty clothes hamper! -The Official Google + site for Nancy Smeltzer
